Extra Pads question

im new here and i have a question for all you dtxpress veterans, can 
i use the 9/10 plug to add two extra single zone pads in allowing me 
to have another tom and another cymbal?? i know i have to use a 
splitter but will it make different voices??

any help is greatly appreciated

yup, it will work.  I originally bought 2 extra cymbals and plugged them to the 9/10 input via a splitter, and they worked great.
