Kick Pads?

Kick Pads?

2002-11-09 by Jim Tonak

I'm thinking the next thing I might upgrade on my DTXpress kit is the
kick pad. Are there any that simply won't work with the module?

The ones that seem appealing to me are...

dDrum DDR5800 Cast Precision Mesh Head ($230 range)

Hart Dynamics Acupad Bass Drum ($260 range)

Hart Dynamics Pro TE3 ($300 range)

Yamaha DTXtreme Real Head Kick Tower ($360 range)

The Pintech ConcertCast doesn't seem to be very stable, lacking bass
drum spurs as all the others listed do. I really hate the way the
KP60 wobbles around, and want to be sure whatever I get is rock solid.

I like the price range of the dDrum and the Hart Acupad. Are there
any inherent problems with these or any of the others listed? Any to
absolutely stay away from?

Thanks,

Hi Jim,

I haven't heard of any problems, nor would I
anticipate that you would have any with any of the
ones you've listed - kick pads are pretty straight
forward triggers.

As far as stability, the DTXtreme tower is like a
rock. I have mine on a rug and it doesn't move.
