Yes, a Y splitter from 9/10 will get you two mono pads or a single
dual-zone pad (not to be confused with "stereo" pad). Make sure that
the splitter is the TRS variety, which takes the mono signals from
the separate tip and ring feeds of the individual source triggers
and sends them to either 9 or 10. Do not use a splitter that has two
separate stereo jacks for each source and makes a joint stereo
deposit into 9/10; you'll get only one sound.
I'm not sure about the copy command problem. Can you disable the
reflex by changing the source pad number in the menu--after you've
copied it, of course--to one that has not been copied? Hopefully,
that will disengage the connection between the original two triggers.
