9/10 output leading to 2 separate drums question

9/10 output leading to 2 separate drums question

2003-01-19 by webleo <webleo@yahoo.com>

I was under the impression that I could use the Y-splitter on the
9/10 to lead to 2 separate mono drums with each of the two
triggering 9 and 10. I tried that, but both pads only pick up pad
#9. Both of the pads are Yamaha rubber pads.

Another question, I noticed that the copy command works like a
charm, but as soon as I modify the original trigger that was being
copied, the new trigger changes as well. Is there any way to make a
copy of all the settings on a trigger (Gain, volume, etc...) to
another trigger and not have the new trigger "link" to the original?

Yes, a Y splitter from 9/10 will get you two mono pads or a single
dual-zone pad (not to be confused with "stereo" pad). Make sure that
the splitter is the TRS variety, which takes the mono signals from
the separate tip and ring feeds of the individual source triggers
and sends them to either 9 or 10. Do not use a splitter that has two
separate stereo jacks for each source and makes a joint stereo
deposit into 9/10; you'll get only one sound.

I'm not sure about the copy command problem. Can you disable the
reflex by changing the source pad number in the menu--after you've
copied it, of course--to one that has not been copied? Hopefully,
that will disengage the connection between the original two triggers.

Move to quarantaine
