pintech tc-18

Guys,
I just picked up a Pintech TC-18 and it's not playing nice with my
DTExpress brain. It sounds like it has a noise gate on it. The only
sound it makes is a ping(if you want to call it that) and then any
reverb that the sound is set up for. I already have two TC-16s and
they work great. I copied the crash trigger setup to the ride and
that didn't work. Does any one have any ideas?
Duane

Hi Duane,

I for one had a lot of trouble with the TC series. As a ride, the
one I had kept choking itself. Even as a crash, it would cut itself
short. The TCs are eminently affordable, and they look pretty good.
Unfortunately, though, they aren't Zenbals. Maybe someone has other
ideas, but I doubt that anything in the module will make an enormous
improvement. The design just isn't all that reliable. There's a
chance that the store you bought it from will take it back and let
you have another one. With a little luck, a new one might perform
satisfactorily.

Ed,
I guess I should have read your post from last April before I bought
the Tc-18 to use as a ride. It does work great as a crash. That's
what I get for buying with my eyes and not doing my homework.
Thanks for the input!
