double pedal

2003-02-13 by leffelejon <gadda@kth.se>

Well ive been looking around everywhere for info about good and
somewhat cheap double pedals... when i bought my dtxpress i bought a
not so good single pedal with it... (millenium) so i have to upgrade
that no matter what. so i was thinking about buying a double pedal
because it would be fun to learn double bass. The thing is i dont
want to buy some shitty stuff like the single pedal i own now... i
will certainly regret it later. So i looked around the net to find
info and it seems that everyone is praising the tama iron cobra.

Anyone tried it who have have played on some other double pedal
before ? would be interresting to hear if it as good as they say.
I saw a iron cobra jr too it seems that it is a cheaper iron cobra
model? anyone tried that :)...... btw i saw a third interresting
pedal,a weird looking sonor pedal

that one is quite cheap so i guess you know what the next question
will be :=)
anyone tried that one?

I have an Iron Cobra Jr. single pedal. Very well made. I'm pretty
hard on pedals and it's holding up great. Good adjustability. If you
find a deal on the Jr., I wouldn't hesitate to pick one up.

Hi Andreas,

Well, I can't help you with double pedals, since I
went the path of having two pedals and kick towers,
but as far as the single Iron Cobra I have - I like it
a lot. I also know that some people think that Axis
pedals are one of the top contenders, so you may want
to look at them as well.

The reason I went with seperate pedals is mainly so I
have more options in their placement. With double
pedals, you're kind of stuck as far as placing them.

Hello Andreas:

I can vouch for the single Tama Iron Cobra as well. Very smooth. I'm
certain you would be happy with the double pedal version.

I played a double bass pedal a few years go but got rid of it because
I didn't use it enough to warrant lugging it around (that was with my
acoustics). At that time I used a Gibraltar Intruder. It was very
well made but didn't offer all the adjustments the Iron Cobra does.
It's in your price range (about $230, I think). It's fast, but has a
very 'spongey' feel to it.

ps to Walt and Ed: I got the rejection issues worked out. Thanks for
your previous posts concerning this issue.
