DTX not so "express" any more

DTX not so "express" any more

2003-02-22 by brown8700 <brown8700@aol.com>

Over the last month, I've switched out the RS80 rack with a Titan
1000 rack, which is similar to a Gibraltar Road Series rack. I've
also switched out the PCYs to Hart e-cymbals, and the pads to
Pintech's ConcertCast pads, including the kick pad.

What used to be a piece of equipment I could pick up in one load now
rivals my acoustic kit (or more).

That being said, however, I'll never go back to acoustics!

If anyone cares to take a look at my kit, I've posted some photos.

Stephen

Hi Stephen,

It looks like a great kit to play. What are you using for a ride,
one the E-cymbals? If so, which model and how's it behaving?

Ed

Wow, I like that rack! I saw it at musiciansfriend.com and was
checking it out but it looks pretty nice with the pads and cymbals!

Hey Ed:
Yes, the kit is fun to play. Right now, the two Hart cymbals are Y'd
together, creating the same sound. If you'll notice, I've got a TP80
off to the right. I use that as my ride, with an additional crash on
the rim.
I'm going to rewire some cabling to see if I can get trick DTX to
accept the impulse from one of the HART's as the TP80 rim sound. I'll
let you how that works.
