recording... again

recording... again

2003-03-18 by Jon Britton

Hey, seems i didn't have any replies to my post.
I followed the instructions in the manual step by step but nothing
is playing back. There are no drum sounds on any of the preset
songs either, are there supposed to be?
I also searched through the manual for anything else relating to
this, including instructions on playing songs back, and so far
nothing has worked!
Please please please.. any help would be appreciated...
Thanks alot
Jon

I've noticed a bit of a drop in activity myself, don't know if everyone
is on spring break or maybe they all got too busy playing their kits to
read their email! :)

Anyway, as for the symptoms you describe, I would start by doing a
factory reset of the module. This seems to cure a number of strange
maladies the kit experiences. Next, I would try the module by itself
(i.e. NO MIDI or other cables. Just Headphones and power!). Try plugging
in headphones and see if the internal songs (high-rise etc) play
correctly (with drums and all the General MIDI voices like piano, bass,
horns etc.).

Next, I would connect the module to my MIDI rig and try recording a few
drum strokes and playing them back. Next I would try using MIDI channel 1
to send General MIDI to the module. The module should have a full
compliment of Musical instruments that respond to MIDI channel 1. After
trying the above, let us know what result you have and I'm sure someone
can come up with a suggestion. :)
