Hi guys just wondering the posted syx drum kit setups, Can they be
loaded into a DTX2 module just like the original.

Regards,

Lee.

Hey, Lee,

I was just wondering. Have you tried the Koby snare and verified
that it works through a stereo, as opposed to dual zone (9/10)
input? I'm curious about kind of triggers are involved.

Hi Ed,

I haven't got the snare yet money restraints but Colin at Koby has a
DTX2 Module know and between us he is going to email me the set up
programming for the snare.I should be getting the snare in the next 2
weeks and i will post a review asap.
He says that the snare does work for dual function using only the
snare output useing a stereo lead.
I will confirm this as soon as i can.
Ed by the way can you tell me can i upload the syx files on the forum
to my dtx2 module ,Is there any difference in the drum kit settings
as i am learniing layering the sounds but want to see how it should
be done.I want a good alround acoutic kit that has 1 floor tom and 3
upper toms.

Thanks as always,

Lee.

Lee,

That is great customer service from Colin, and I am eager to learn
about how his snare works on a Yamaha, and presumably Roland, stereo
input. As for the Xpress II working with earlier syx files, I can't
give a definitive answer because I don't own that module, but my gut
feeling is that files will transfer between the I and II versions.
What won't transfer are files across different Yamaha platforms--
say, from the DTXv2.0 module (DTX2U) to the DTXpress modules
(DTXPU), though the Xchange software seems to work for each module
individually. The differences between the two versions of the Xpress
module appear only to be substantive, not formal. In other words,
even though the II model allows for a couple of rim switches on the
snare, it doesn't change any proprietary software. Gee, I posted
something longwinded about layering sounds last year. If I can find
it, I'll send it to you offline. It may or may not help.
