Hi,

In answer to your questions:
1)The maximum number of inputs is 10 if you use mono
pads (with a splitter on 9/10). However, you can use
stereo pads to effectively double this. The
implementation of stereo pads on the unit is not as
good as, say, the DTX2 or VDrums but it's a start.
Stereo pads give you two voices: one on the rim and
one on the main pad.
2)& 3) The logiztix pads look seriously crap, but the
theory is very good. I'm certainly going to give one a
try. There's no reason why you can't buy a second
DTXpress brain and add homemade pads to it as long as
the transducers you use are comparable to those on the
DTXpress. The main obstacle is how do you get all
those pads onto the existing frame? I think you might
have to get a bit handy with a welding torch and some
metal tubes....

In referrence to "Those Logiztix pads look a bit crap"

I've built the AcousteX variation, which turns an acoustic kit into an electronic. It's great for practice and the Arbitter Flats kits are spot on donors for a small portable "DDrum"-esque real feel electronic kit. Having played both the DTXpress pads and my own, I have to say I'm realy pleased with my creations, they are every bit as sensative as the supplied pads, and I think they look better than those rubber coated little discs. Try building a pad or two as inputs for trigger 9/10, maybe pick up a set of second hand roto toms, these make good donors, see the Logiztix site on how to mount them in boom arms. What will it cost, 50? 100 if you buy a set of new roto's, how much do Yamaha pads cost - 100+ each? Simple maths realy.

If you've got any ideas on where I can get condensors from for the rim triggers ( except the Yamaha spares department) I'd love to hear from you.
