Got VisuLites

Got VisuLites

2003-08-26 by fezzasus

i came back from reading yesterday and found my Visu Lites
waiting for me, they are very nice and do play very well (pictures
in photo's bit) the problem with them is that i now want more,
however i cannot afford them (i had to pay an additional £40 or
$60 for import tax ontop of the price)

i am considering purchasing pracitce hi hats and converting
them as all the visu lites use is a pezio trigger sandwitched
inbetween the bottom of the cymbal and connection for the plug.

however i am worried about the hi hat controler i have opened
mind and had a look but it looks like a rater complicated way for
it to work, does anyone have any ideas how i can get around this
- i plan to hook a multimeter up to it later on and read what
signals it gives off when it does certain things.

no, luckally it was for both but its still alot when you think you
have payed for them completly

i have been looking at options for the hi hat and have worked out
what to do for the hi hats - just not the controler - if anyone has
the visu lite controler and are feeling silly enough to open it could
they - just so i could get some idea how it is done

Really Inspector, do you seriously expect me to believe that on 28/8/03 9:17

I've just looked out an old invoice from when I imported some Axis pedals
and as far as I can see there's tax and duty on the total value of the goods
including shipping. What I'm not sure of is the rates at which these are
charged. You can find out by 'phoning Customs and Excise. Also, if it comes
in with a carrier like UPS there'll be a brokerage charge for clearing the
item through customs for you, on top of the shipping charge. UPS is in my
experience favoured by US businesses and is expensive - you can check their
rates out online. Just recently I wanted to order a couple of items that
totalled $69 but the UPS charge would have been $80! - asking the retailer
to check out airmail meant I never heard from them again. So I didn't get
the goods, but the price quoted was half what I'm paying here in the UK for
the same items so it was worth a try.

i bought the visu lites directly from the store in america - which is
why i had to pay the import chargte, if you are purcahsing them
from within the country then there will be no charge.

i belive the tax works out at about 30% of the price

where are you getting yours from?
