Actually, you can simulate the 'balanced' connection, with a little soldering. A regular shielded cable, like guitar, or the crappy ones that ship with DTX, is one insulated cunductor on the + side, and a ground braid for the '-' side.The ground is part of the circuit. Instead, use a cable with TWO conductors, PLUS a ground braid. This could be a typical TRS (Stereo) cable.BUT.... you have to use MONO plugs. Use the two insulated wires for the conductors. Now solder the ground braid IN ONLY ONE PLUG to the SLEEVE terminal. The other end of the braid is not connected. This energizes the ground braid-- thus sheilding the signal--without it actually transporting the signal. If this is not clear, maybe I can post a diagram. Scott
