Indulging in a little schadenfreude there, Brian?

Hi everyone,

It's nice to be back. I'm well behind the times, and have much
catching up to do. But I'm mightily impressed with all the
information that's been posted, not to mention all the humor. At the
risk of making a mountain out of a molehill, in defense of Brian's
post, not long ago someone posted a question about the Hart Prodigy
kit relative to the rubber pads of the DTXpress. I tried to warn him
that the Prodigy might not be the best cost-effective alternative to
the Yamaha stock kit; he bought it anyway. So I started the whole
thing. Hart makes some wonderful equipment, but the Prodigy setup
doesn't make the cut. Hatchet jobs on it aren't uncommon; it ain't
inexpensive for nothing. Though advertising per se may not be
appropriate at this site, Brian didn't overstep the bounds. No one
person's word on this site should be regarded automatically as either
gospel or bunkum. Presumably we're all big enough boys and girls to
tell the wheat from the chaff ourselves. I'm probably preaching to
the choir and should start shutting up right about now. I just want
to make sure that Brian doesn't get the idea that his views, jokes,
and helpful hints aren't welcome; they are, eminently.

That said, I'm glad to find that the review of the Pintech hi hat is
officially on the docket (that is, if Stephen really did email Brian)
and eager to read the results. Okay, I have some work to do to get up
to speed with the rest of you.

Ed:
Good to have you back.
Yes, I emailed Brian with a some thoughts, as well as a question
about the Pintech HH pedal. Haven't heard back. That was, however,
during the week of the 'blaster' thing (I think).

Anyway, I told Brian I would just go ahead and outright purchase a
ZBH102 and follow with a review. I'll have to wait a few weeks before
the purchase, though.

Pintech Review forthcoming

2003-09-03 by brown8700

I just spoke with Pintech R&D director Brian LaRue concerning several
new Pintech items. Specifically, the new Zenbal HiHat and Zenbal 10"
splash cymbals. Brian has agreed to send to me these two items for
evaluation and review.

Brian is also sending a set of core/trigger upgrades for their
concert cast snare and tom drums. Mine having been produced just
weeks before the upgrade, Brian thought I could benefit greatly from
these. I will post comments about them as well.

I will have the opportunity to use the items in a live setting;
however, I don't have any studio sessions planned for the next few
weeks.

Look forward to an informative and in-depth review in a few weeks. If
there are those of you out there who like for me to look for certain
attributes, please email me and let me know what they are.

I'm stoked!

Stephen

Hey Stephen,

When did the upgrades come out? I heard about them, good things, but
I promptly forgot. I probably should get them sometime soon as well.

Ed:
I purchased my concert cast pads in January and the new triggers and
cores came out just a few weeks later.
