recording with a preset song

recording with a preset song

2003-08-27 by vtis0145

Hi!

I would like to record my performance with the preset songs, with
the sequencer. In the "song" menu, there is an option to copy
any preset song into a user-song slot. So I do this, but when I
want to record my playing, I can't mute the drum part of the song
(I mean, when I playback the song, I hear MY part and the
pre-recorded part).

I want to delete the drum part of the song. I have tried to mute
channel 10, but then, I can't hear my playing!!!

My DTXPress is a first-model. Is there any way to record my
playing with a preset song?

I know, this must be a very novice question. I feel ashamed, but
I'm getting crazy with this.

On the mk1, by my quick reading of the manual, you can mute groups of
sounds (kick, snare, cymbals, misc) from the song playback mode (see
page 31 of the manual) - go into song playback, then page down to
the "song and mute" display. Shift and page up when in song playback
will mute the song's drum track but allow you to play over it (page
18).

I think in the end what you need to do it use Song Job mode to clear
the drum track (page 50) from the song you've copied, and then play
over it. You'll need to clear the track before you can record to it
anyway. I believe the drum track is track 1.

Yes, but that doesn't delete the drum track.

That is what I want. But, when I delete track 2, nothing happens,
and when I delete track 1, the song and the drums dissappear.
