does anybody here know much about the ddrum4 se brain
thats supposed
to be the most realistic sounding module ever.

***The Ddrum is hands down the best module if you're
out for performance. I've had all of the major modules
(TD 5,7,6,8,10-DTXPRESS,XTREME,2.0,RM50-D4,DM5) and
the Ddrum is my favorite. It's one of the favorite
among studio professionals. The biggest thing it
offers is 1000 steps of dynamics.....Roland TD10 only
has 288 at best.
As for the X talk, the dynamic control and sensor
reading is so accurate that it's not really necessary
to have Xtalk cancel as an additional feature.
I will also say the Ddrum isn't for everyone, but if
your looking for performance, it's got it. If you're
looking for fun.....don't spent the money......
Peace,
Brian

Brian,

It's good with Pintech meshes? Does it do positional with them? I'm
undecided about buying it or waiting for the new Yamaha. The ddrum
comes with a big discount now; I assume it's being replaced. Still,
it's hard to resist, even though I'm betting on the new Xtreme to be
a real winner.

brian,

i've heard that it is absolutely fantastic for drums but that the
cymbals are not all that. u have mentioned that u've tried other
modules, how does the ddrum4 compare with the td-8 in terms of
cymbals (inparticular the hi-hat)? What do u think of the cymbals?

hey ed,

i couldn't help noticing that u said the ddrum4 has dropped in price,
whats the cheapest you've been able to find it (new)? you're right
about it being replaced, the ddrum5 is apparently in the making and
will most probably include many modifications (for instance USB
connectivity, more inputs, stereo & dual inputs, more onboard memory
and perhaps some more features) however ddrums simplicity is what
makes the ddrum4 a great plus for me. I'm one of those people who
just wants to play and not fiddle around with endless menu options.

cheers pete

Pete,

Cursory inspection has turned up a couple of prices hovering around
the $1000 mark. Looking harder might turn up even bigger reductions,
especially once word gets around about the replacement.
