Hi JD,

Welcome. The good news is that you have a DTXpress II, but you
already know that. The bad news? Well, there isn't any. The DTXpress
has some limitations vis a vis more expensive kits, but you won't run
into them for some time. You will gradually come to learn, if you
haven't begun to do so already, that e-drums (particularly at the
DTXpress level, though not exclusively so) are not simply acoustic
drums with electrical plugs. They have their own characteristics,
strengths, and weaknesses. Getting to know them is half the fun. I
won't prejudice your experience, but I will tell you flat out that
you bought a good kit, and that you won't run out of things to do
with it for quite a while. We'll look forward to hearing about your
adventures. Questions arise for all of us from time to time.

By the way, the picture on the front page is actually the DTXpressIII
SP, which is not out yet, but will be released in Japan at the end of
next month. It has some advanced features and some significant
departures from the first and second versions. Hopefully, we'll have
more information about it in the near future.

See ya,
Ed
