shameless back patting revisited

I originally posted this message when the site was down this afternoon. If it repeats, I'll delete it. There's an almost new DTXpress II currently on auction at ebay. Among other things, the author has this to say about it: "It is also FULLY PROGRAMMED!! No small feat, believe me. Programming the rejection/self rejection/special rejection settings alone is enough to make you consider suicide!!! I don't know if all units have this problem, but the snare pad and high-hat pad would not trigger simultaniously out of the box. In other words, if you hit the snare pad and high-hat pad together, the snare pad would not trigger. That is not an acceptable error for a drummer!!! After several hours of reprogramming, I got it straight." If the seller had been a member of this group, he would have known that the module shipped with a faulty setting, and he would have saved himself considerable time and aggravation. In fact, the problem would have solved in a matter of minutes. This case is a good example of why Yamaha should consider including mention of this group (and/or the forthcoming Drumb and Drumber guide) in its manual for the DTXpress III or other product literature. We could also save Yamaha a lot of aggravation. The moderators et al. have discussed making this pitch, and when the time is right, we will.
