LINKING 2 MODULES

LINKING 2 MODULES

2003-12-06 by JAYMZ

Hi all! ... I was reading a post about connecting two modules and
decided to post my own solution:
On mod 2, plug a 1/4 cord into the mono out, and with an adapter on
the other end of the 1/4 cable , plug it into the aux in , on the
front of mod 1, and by using the mono out on mod 1 , you now have 2
mods on one kit, taking up only one channel on the mixing board.
This is my actual set up, except i have a yamaha dd-50 that i use in
place if the second mod, mostly used for percussion stuff while i
have my dtxpress2 set to a standard 5 piece kit.

And, as for thr tc14 pintech series cymbals, i bought 2 to augment my
kit, overall i am not happy with them, sometimes they work sometimes
not, also when they work , you really have to find a "sweet spot" and
have good aim to have them work all the time. I am looking forward to
getting some of the new yamaha series e-cymbals in the near future,
replacing the tc14's.

later all!

---Pretty much what I did.

I use the mono out (L) on the second module to the Aux. in on the
first module.

Now my challenge is the fact that since it is not stereo I only hear
mod #2 in my left ear. Frustrating...

Something else to consider:

If you use a "insert cable" from the left/right (mono/mono) output of
module one and plug it into the stereo "AUX-IN" on the front of
module 2, you will get the sounds in both ears.

An "insert Cable" is a Y-splitter cable that has two mono 1/4" jacks
(left/right) and converts to a single stereo 1/4" jack.

HOSA makes one that has 36" of cable, which is more than enough
length to reach between the front and rear of the two modules.

Why do you choose a mono cord instead of a Dual 1/4" mono to a stereo
1/8" plug so you get both channels? Just curious....
