Hi!! I posted a message earlier, but no one has replied. Anyway,I seem to have a problem with sysex files. When I use the dtxpressions program, I find that, with everything connected, it quickly desplays the message " file sent!" on my computer screen. However, Nothing happens on my dtxpress module at all. Can someone tell what I'm doing wrong? It would be very helpful if someone could get me out of this frustrating hole. Peace out!!!

Robert, I assume that you've followed the instructions in the DTXpress manual under Bulk Dump in the Utility Mode. If so, the only thing that comes to mind is that the your MIDI cables are connected incorrectly. If your connection from the PC is via a MIDI adapter from a Soundblaster- type card, the MIDI cable end labelled "out" could be meant to connect either to the Yamaha MIDI "in" or MIDI "out." Different manufacturers treat the labels differently--some expecting you to join "out" to "out" and others "out" to "in." Try swapping the cables. Ed

With the Holidays upon us, alot of people don't visit quite as often, so replies can get lost or postponed. Did you make sure that the midi cable was connected in reverse of want logic says. The first time I connected my cables I did the logical thing and connected the midi in cable to the midi in jack of the module and the midi out of the cable to the midi out of the module. They actual need to be reversed. Think of it as path of travel for the signal. The signal comes "out" of the module and "in" to the midi cable. The signal then travels "out" of the midi cable and "in" to the module. OGD > -----Original Message----- > From: robert4506@...
