First off I would like thank all or you for you honest feedback and
allowing me time and space in you group. Most of the information that
was forwarded was what I had expected. There were some excellent
point from this and other forums that I had not given any thought to
like left hand conversion. It seems that the name needs to be revised
and that all makes perfect sense. The unit needs to be expandable as
much as possible. And the adjustments need to be ample to accommodate
as many preferences as possible. The triggers/pads will be an
interesting challenge. The Peratron though it has the appearance of
being very simple and clean is fairly complicated from a design
point. All of the elements need to move into a transportable position
and back to a playing position, any adjustability needs be designed
in to it. It, by design will have some limitations, my challenge is
to try to cover function/form and the ability to allow altering of
the form to some extent, and still be able to function (close/open).
The placement and size of the pads is somewhat critical as many of
the units are hinged to fall into a specific position when open as
well as closed. Many of the concerns have been addressed but it's
hard to tell from many of the photos. The seat is adjustable both in
and out about 8" the seat height is as well. The bass drum pedal
is
adjustable from side to side. The bass drum pedal stays attached for
transport and it will still function with double bass pedals. There
are no real limitations to speak of as far as weight of pads goes as
stronger gas springs is an easy fix. The "cymbal" stands need to
be
revised to allow tilting of the pads or cymbal type triggers. The
bottom line is this you all have been very helpful and given me many
excellent ideas as well as food for thought. I know that I can't
make
it work for everyone but I just wanted to get a feel for how the real
electronic drummers would perceive the concept. I will keep you
informed as to the progress of the Automatic setup/collapsible
electronic drum set and thanks for sharing you expertise with me, it
truly is appreciated.

Sincerely
Bob Wilson
