Cymbal pad upgrade
2004-01-03 by Nick Carroll
I speak as an owner of the DTXpressI. (Does anybody else on this bulletin board still use the original DTXpress?) I recently discovered that upgrading the two-zone cymbal PCY 80S (which came with my kit) to a PCY 65S has solved my misfiring problems. What an improvement! My rim would often sound when I was playing the bow, but I get a consistent ride sound now. Hooray! I had bought the PCY 65S to replace the crash pad, so I could get a second ride cymbal with a crash on the rim. But its better handling convinced me to move it to my first ride position. Since I'm so behind the times, I reckon in 10 years time, when I can afford to upgrade the kit, I'll be raving about how good the DTXpressIII is!
