MIDI separation on computer

MIDI separation on computer

2004-01-07 by rob_p1960

Hi guys!! Hope everyones enjoying the new year.

I was just wondering out of interest if anyone new if you could
separate midi tracks on the computer( e.g... bass drum, snare...etc.).
I just reckon it would be cool to play with tracks that way if it's
possible.

Anyhow thanks for your help

Rob,

One of the nice things about some of the more expensive modules is
the ability to split the various components into multiple audio
outputs to a mixer, recorder, or sequencer to further refine the
sound. But you can also place each pad/input of the DTXpress on a
separate MIDI channel (1-16) and send the lot to separate tracks on a
sequencer before mixing down to stereo for playback. Every sequencer,
I imagine, would have a slightly different way of handling track
assignments.
