Rob,
Thank you for your kind words about this site. Nothing makes the
management any happier than satisfied customers. This place is really
only as informative and friendly as the people who use it. Actually,
we are one of a number of drum/e-drum boards, and enough of us belong
to multiple sites that we might even call the collection a loose
network. On Yahoo, some of the standouts are Drumzillaslair, which is
dedicated primarily to acoustic drums, drumming, and related issues;
DTX and DTXtreme, which deal (at this point) with past Yamaha kits
and modules; Electronicdrums, which is a nondenominational site; and
Pintech. Some private sites of interest are vdrums.com, the
unofficial home of Roland e-drummers but a deep source of general
information; ddrums.com, which is dedicated to Clavia's ddrum
products; and edrumming.com, the newest of the lot, which has a
number of resources at its disposal and plays all the fields.
Our site--the hallmarks of which are not only its special connection
with Yamaha and its broad range of experience but also its general
tone--has a reputation for avoiding the flaming, backbiting, and
intolerance with newbies that sometimes infects other boards. We're
hoping that as we rapidly approach 1,000 members, and new products
begin to enter the mix in 2004, we can establish this group even
further with manufacturers, retailers, and rank-and-file e-drummers.
The moderators and some core members have plans that may be of
interests in the not too distant future. Thanks for the opportunity
to thank our members and give an update.
