HELP A NEWBIE CONTINUED...

2004-01-19 by randomsandpit

Oh,and i forgot to mention that the pads are still being picked up
by the velocity meter in the brain if that helps explain my
situation.i considered a factory reset but i have put too many hours
into my user kits to lose it all over what may be a simple
problem.thanks again in advance...

Hey, Sandpit,

Welcome. Are you listening through headpones? Did you turn the volume
button next to the jack on the face of the module all the way down
accidentally? Are the headpnones ok? Look for a loose or disconnected
wire. Try another set. Is the common volume of the kit in the voice
menu at 0?

Headphones are ok,and i have the dtx hooked up through my stereo
too, though ive disconnected the drums from the stereo in hope of
narrowing the problem down.As i said,i can listen to songs/tracks
ive recorded previously, just no sound from the pads,no matter what
kit im playing, preset OR user.Volume knobs are all up,ive been at it
all day and that factory reset is lookin pretty good as all the
apparently logical steps have been exhausted! I just hope someone
out there has had the same problem, ive gone through pretty much all
the messages in this group lookin for a clue but no luck. One thing
that didnt look right is when i go to a user kit, then "voice" and
hit a pad,the name of the voice has a astrix next to it.i know that
if the kit has one next to it it means its been altered, but yeah,i
dont recall seeing one next to the voice before.

Trigger bypass isn't on because you still get a gain reading. Have
you tried turning the module off for a few minutes? Sorry if I'm
redundant, but you didn't mention whether you checked the volume
setting for the kit as a whole in the voice menu, unless you included
it in volume knobs.

That just means the voice is layered.

Problem solved!! Yeah it WAS the trigger bypass, somehow i'd turned
it on although i was still getting a gain reading on the velocity
meter if thats possible. As soon as i turned it off,WA-LA,i had sound
again and am now playing along to my favourite tool cd's once
again:oD.Thank you very much emf,i appreciate your help immensly!!!
