A quick MIDI question!

A quick MIDI question!

2004-01-20 by Farkus Gwenadon

Hey guys,

Quick question (I hope): I have connected my DTXPressII to my PC
via the MIDI cable to my computer's sound card (joystick port). I
can record my drums fine through Cakewalk 3. My issue is that I can
only hear my recordings played back through my headphones. The
sound is running itself back through my DTX brain rather than
straight to my computer speakers. I'd like to be able to hear what
I've done through my computer speakers rather than through my drum
module.

I'm sure it's just a simple button click, but I have yet to find
it. Any suggestions you might have would be appreciated!

Thanks
-M

M,

Enter "Tools" on the menu bar across the top of Cakewalk's opening
page. Click on "Project Options," and then "MIDI INPUT." Disable
"MIDI Echo," which is creating the loop back to the DTXpress module.
Once that's done, you should be able to get the audio out of your PC.
I'm doing this from memory; let me know if it works.

Gunny,

For MIDI Echo you've selected "None"? Cakewalk won't send information
to the DTXpress if the MIDI chain is broken. Make sure that your
sound card appears Under Audio Options.
