Midi - from DTXpress to sequencer

Midi - from DTXpress to sequencer

1999-12-06 by p.brow@xxx.xx.xx

Can anyone help with midi input to Cubase VST.

I have switched off the DTXpress timing sync so VST now receives midi information ok.
However, the snare and kick drum send unexpected note values ie E7 when E1 would have been better.
Hence the snare and kick don't play back on the PCs own internal Yamaha DB50 synth board but all the other notes do.

Strangely, if you check the midi output with a Studiomaster midi analyser you get the error LED lit.
VST receives all the midi intact but just these strange snare and kick notes are annoying.

Doesn't the DTXpress allow you to change the notes assigned to each pad?
I forget where, but I'm sure I've seen this in the menus.

hmmm....

The DTXpress can assign different VOICES to pads but I haven't found how to change the assigned midi note - if you found out let me know, thanks.

Thanks Andy,

I went searching and eventually found a section that allows you to change the 'output' note - Cubase VST is working just fine now.

Also, for anyone needing more midi ports, I just got the Steinberg USB 2 midi interface with 2 individual INs and OUTs. It is so easy to install (Win 98 only) and works a treat.
