How to set up w/o rack

How to set up w/o rack

1999-12-14 by Mr. Lauri Kero

They just called me from the store and said the pads and brain
are here but I'll have to wait some more for the rack. So now
I'd like to know if I can get temporary mounting system for the
pads. How are they attached to the rack?

I bet my Pearl stands are not compatible because of the
huge diameter of the stubs... Oh well...

Hmmm....tricky
The DTXpress uses hexagonal bolts to secure each pad
to its "stand". The stands are metal tubes about 1.5"
diameter. These are the same width as the rest of the
rack. Each stand fixes to the rack by means of one or
more plastic junction sleeves, tightened by a large
knob.
Oh yeah, there's also a knob to tighten the pad to its
haxagonal bolt. If your pads have got the knob with
them you could possibly attach them to a cymbal boom
stand. I think you might be unlucky though, coz all
the knobs and fittings came with the rack when I got
my kit.
If I were you, I'd just lay 'em out on the couch, sit
on the floor and pound away...
