Lots of kits for sale ???

Lots of kits for sale ???

2004-03-09 by n999gun

I'm not sure if it is the same in the US but on ebay.co.uk there
quite a few DTXpress 1 & II that are not getting any bids at all. At
present there are about 5 or 6 with no bids. there is 1 with 1 nid
and that is for £350 and the reserve is not met. Do you think
everybody is waiting for the III or is it that all the II owners are
selling to get the III. Anybody have an explanation.

Would this also be a good time to grab one at a bargain. What does
this do for the second hand price of the I & II, will it make them
all cheaper in the long run. I remember just before Christmas they
were selling like hot cakes and were almost reaching RRP.
Now nobody seems interested?

There is always a flurry of activity just before and during the
release of a new version. Of course, the more glutted the used market
is, the harder it becomes for individual sellers to unload. Plus,
prices go down, and they keep going down. At this point, people who
sell can get a slightly higher price than they might later, because
not every potential buyer has become aware that the product lines are
changing. But, when the new kits become common knowledge, and the
older ones look more and more obsolete (though we know that's not
true), prices fall in earnest. But e-drum market speculation is not
an exact science; sometimes a diamond in rough shows up to buy at the
most unlikely moment. If you're in the buying mode, all you can do is
pay close attention to what's offered. Periodically, back check the
ebaly selling prices of the model that you want to make sure that you
don't pay too much.

They want too much for them. A new DTXpress is between £700 and
£800, less if you buy from Europe (ie not the UK). The ebay sellers
are wanting MORE than £500 or £600 which is too much. I am waiting
for the new DTXpress 3 - latest info is first week in April in the UK.

Keith.

That's exactly the problem. A DTXpress III is about £680 delivered
from Thomann in Germany so why buy a used II for not much less and
in some cases more?

Just for information...
Thomann's seem OK, but I've cancelled my order for the latest Vdrum
kit because there would be no 3 year UK warranty - and the price
online just went up by £300 bringing it close enough to a discounted
UK price including delivery.

regards,
Will

I hear you get a continental adaptor, but either use a 2 pin shaver
adaptor or buy the UK power supply, KPA3 from Argos, Comet or a music
shop.

I am waiting for the III at my "local" drum shop (60 miles away).

Keith.
