Excellent, thanks for this. Now all I need to know is (puts on
Project Management cap) ... when?

Thanks to Ed Morin of Drumbalaya. I was hoping that the DTXT2U would
sell at the $800-$900 mark. It looks like $1,000 +, at least for the
time being.

Ed,

Thanks for the pricing update.
Also, I emailed Yamaha asking if the Hihat problem was going to
postpone the shipping date of the Dtxtreme IIS, (since it shares the
same HiHat as the Dtxpress IIISP) and haven't gotten a response back.
Are you still anticipating the Dtxtreme IIS in the first week of May??

Have I missed something? What hi-hat problem?

You took the words right out of my mouth (off my keyboard?).

Well, since it's out, and OGD is busy, OGD found out from Yamaha that

"the Dtxpress IIISP kit has a shipping problem. The packing
around the hihat pad is coming loose and is breaking the clutch
connection. Jim [Haler]is flying to Chicago tomorrow [3/9] where
these kits are being shipped out from to try and fix/replace them
before anymore are shipped out. They are going to check all of them,
and replace them before anymore kits go out. Yamaha is air freighting
replacement ones out to anybody that has one already. With the break
the hihat stays in the open position only."

Oh well, packing can be fixed. At least it's not a fundamental
problem with the hats.

Yes; or maybe even sooner. I'll nose around and see if I can get an
update...
