Welcome to the group!

I have played both rubber pads and mesh heads. They both have there
strengths and weaknesses. I'd say that mesh heads can simulate an
acoustic ket better and they are replaceable...but fine tuning is in
order. Rubber pads may have a little more bounce, wich is helpful
when trying to play fast. The DTXpress actually feels great and the
osunds are awesome, and even better with all the tweaking
capabilities of the DTX II brain. I got to try one out when I visited
Liberty University in Lynchburg. I was sold then and there. Gettin
mine in a few weeks. Its all a preference...should go try both out at
your local music shop and see which fits you best. Mesh drums are
also going to twice as expensive, or more, depending on the company.
