A few DTXpress III questions

A few DTXpress III questions

2004-04-27 by jonobacon

Hi,

I am considering either a DTXpress III or the special edition. I would
be grateful for the combined knowledge of your knowledge on these
questions:

 - Is the only difference with the IIIS that you get the three round
cymbals, a throne, pedal and better rack? Is the actual brain the same?

 - Can you buy the round cymbals for the normal III?

 - With the normal III, do the cymbals have a bell? I really use the
bell of a cymbal a lot in my playing and really need it.

 - Anyone know the suggested price for the III and IIIS in the UK.

 - anyone know a place to get these kits cheap in the UK?

Thanks for your time. :)

  Jono

Yes all that and hi hat on a stand. Brain is the same.

Eventually.

No, not physically, though you can program one into a rim. However, I
don't find that approach productive. Cymbals with actual bells are
better.

Check Thomann. We just had a string of posts about UK availability
and price. Check the recent archives. "UK" as the keyword might bring
up the topic.

Most companies in the UK want list price for the DTX III at the
moment, but I got mine from Scheerers for £750 - the only place I
could find in the UK which was selling it at the same price as the DTX
II. Helpful people, free delivery.

Keith.

If You're anywhere near Northampton - The Drum Centre is where I got
mine - kit with a Premier stool and twin chain premier pedal - I paid
£770 for the lot ( and they threw in a pair of sticks too )
Not sure if that is a repeatable deal as two of us bought at the same
time - I think they have 1 kit left ?
Speak to Russ - 01604 628200

I got a cable for mine yesterday to link the CD player in, and bought
a cheap pair of headphones ( Panasonic RPHT379 - £19.99 from Currys -
cheap but do the job ) - had a blissfull couple of hours last night
in the garage with it all :o)

Chuffed to bits

Cheers

I thought the point of an electronic kit is that you DON'T have to
play in the garage :)

LOL ...
Yes, would be nice but it's in the garage because :

a. nowhere for it to go in the house ( too many other hobbies taking
up the room )
b. It's away from the wife and kids ( ie; she can't complain and they
can't fiddle about )
c. .... a and b are good enough reasons .. !

I take the brain off and take it indoors when I've finished - with
the new cable end labels it's soooo easy to connect up. ;o)

Cheers
