DTX size

2004-05-02 by philsiu02

I've just bought the DTX II and it will be delivered on Wednesday.
The only problem is that i have very limited room for it. If anyone
has the rough dimensions of the rack or just a rough guess at the
floor space it requires then it would be most appreciated. I could
just wait till it arrives and set it up and make room for it then,
but that just means loosing valuable playing time.

Thanks

Phil

I am using 5' by 5'. I am not huge! However, I think it depends on
how wide you set the rack arms with the module & Tom3 on, how deep
your kick pedal is and how far you like to sit away from the kit (and
how long your legs are? - I am 6'). I have included the distance to
my back when sat on the throne. I guess I could squeeze up 6" if
required.

Cheers. I have a 4ft space (in terms of width). Ive got a depth of
around 5ft. (width being the back of the dtx (e.g parallel with the
bass drum)). Looks like i might have to do some re-arranging. Im sure
it will be worth it. I've managed to pick up 4.5 sqr foot of
soudproof flooring though so i'll try and squeese it all into that
space with any luck.

Thanks for your help.

p.s. anyone know where I can get the yamaha monitor MS50DR (I think).
Its the 50 watt system with the sub and two satellites. Only problem
is that i need it from a supplier in the UK and i can only find the
100watt monitor over here.

p.p.s If there are any other UK members then check out
www.percussionhouse.com They sell good electronic kits/accessories
could prob order most stuff over too.

Thanks.

Phil

There's always good old Thomann in Germany who ship to the UK. £12
to do so if memory serves. Here's a link to the MS50DR on their
site.

I've used them before and never had a problem.
