My son would like to add a double bass to his DTXpress I, is there a way to do this? I tried to search previous messages but all the traffic I found was about later models.

Since the kick is just a mono trigger type, all you need is a spare input like 9 or 10 to plug the second one into. Then you will need to setup the trigger type for the input you use and then just assign a bass drum voice to the pad. On the newer KP65 kick pad there is a second jack for plugging a second mono pad into, like a second bass drum pad (KP60 or KP65). If you go this route you will need to plug the KP65 in inputs 9/10, instead of the pad1 input and you will need to setup the trigger types for inputs 9/10 for the kick pads being used and setup the voices assigned to them as well. You would do that when you want to use two separate bass drum pedals. I have a double bass drum pedal set that plays on one drum, the Pacific Drums PDDP602PB. I like its relatively low inertial mass which makes it easier for me to play, at this time, than my new Pearl Powershifter Eliminator P-2002C pedals. And there is no need to make the adjustments on the Pacific Drums pedals to make the beaters fit the kick pad, as the KP65 was designed for this purpose. Stephanie

Stephanie, The KP65 is the only bass pad made for the DTXpress kits that is capable of using a double bass pedal. If its the KP60, then you'll have to purchase a second one to do 2 pedals. You prolly knew that already, I was just making sure that was understood. -Zack-

My fault Ken, I wasn't thinking. Yes the KP60 and KP65 can use double pedals, I was thinking about the tower one that came with the DTXpress I. -Zack-
