Lost hihat trigger signals

I just discovered a quite unusual thing with mi HH65 hihat (DTXPIIIST). If the hihat pedal is kicked down it triggers in a normal way, as you would expect. But if the kick-down action is closely followed by a hit on the hihat pad sometimes the latter triggers can´t be heard. This seems to happen only if the two trigger signals (chick and pad) are happening within a certain - rather short - period of time. Has anybody ever experienced this? Any way to change the settings to mitigate tghe problem? Regards -Bongo-
