What is the best double bass option?

What is the best double bass option?

2001-03-09 by forgotten247@yahoo.com

Hey all, just wondering what people are doing for using a double
bass setup w/ the DTXpress, from reading the posting and site it
looks like making a set with the hi-hat controller as a kick is a
decent alternative but the feel isn't as fluid as I'd like. The 3
options I can see would be:

1 - Modifing standard kick tower so the striking zone is larger
2 - By a mesh head verticle kick pad large enough for double pedal
3 - Buying a second kick tower and link the two of them

I'd rather not go with #3 since I wouldn't want to loose another
input since they are fairly limited, plus I'd need to buy another
single kick pedal (have 1 single and 1 double). #2 would be nice but
I'd rather do #1 for $$$ reasons, if anyone has any suggestions or
plans let me know, if the striking pad could be turned sideways it
may be large enough but I haven't looked at it enough to see what can
be done yet.

  Thanks!

Shawn

You could buy the Pintech Ergokik trigger for $35 and use your double
pedal. It has a strike area large enough for two beaters.

Just add a second inverted beater and you should be set -- no second
input required.
