Go to town man! Anything goes with E-Kits... one of the preset kits
(don't know the name, I was just watching someone) had the hihat
closed sound (the sound from stomping the pedal down) was set to a
eletronic "laser" sound but the hihats were still normal, you could
play closed hats or open hats and everything in between... but stomp
your foot down and you had a completely crazy sound... it was pretty
cool to listen to an inovative drummer play with that sound. (I'm
not even close to a drummer so it doesn't take much to impress me ;)
You don't even really have to plug the pad in anywhere different but
it may be easier then editing the kits to accomidate the 2 tom setup,
and leaves that tom open to be used if you get another pad.
I'm making a few homemade triggers to use for maybe a third cymbal
(china probably) and special fx like 808 or cowbell stuff. I don't
need precision here since it will be special effects.
Good luck and have fun dreaming up all the things you can do until
you get your kit in!
