A gentle plea ... please trim your posts

Folks, I know that by default most mail clients (if you take your list by mail) and the Yahoo online web interface will quote the entire posting you are replying to. It's very tempting just to type your response, hit "send" and you're done. But it's very, very hard to read. By the time you're a few messages in on a long thread, there can be a hundred lines of multiply-quoted quotes (where the line wrap has almost certainly been butchered) before a one-line response. Please take the time and consideration to trim the original text in your replies. If you are just responding to a single point in a long posting, trim everything but the point you're responding to. If you're several posts into a thread, chop out everything but the most recent message. It doesn't take long, it shows far more consideration for fellow group-members, and it's far more likely to get read. Put simply, it's good netiquette. Thanks. Stewart
