Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Can anyone give me advice on a couple of things.  I have a dtxpress 
II and I've added another module, (a used Alesis D4) and a few extra 
pads.  I really don't know how to use the Alesis D4.  I didn't get a 
manual but I downloaded one from the internet and there seems to be 
some info missing.  I can't figure out how to assign a pad the voice 
I want.  I tried doing it the way the dtxpress module works, but 
obviously the D4 uses some other method.  Can anyone tell me what it 
is?

Also, I'm getting cross talk between the modules.  I hit a pad 
connected to the dtxpress, and and Alesis pad sounds as well, & vice 
versa.  What's the best way to control that?

Last question: At church, I play an older dtxpress.  We've ordred a 
couple of extra pads and another used dtxpress module in order to 
have a few more drum voices availble.  I'm going to have to mount the 
new pads on the same arm(s) as the existing pads from the existing 
module.  I expect I'm going to have some crosstalk issues there too.  
Any advice to head off that problem?

I can't answer the Alesis question, as I have never worked with one.
 
The module question I can answer. If you go into the photo gallery you will
see that my kit has three modules, and alot of pads tightly pack to
together. The only crosstalk that is an issue on the kit is when I hit the
barpad on the right side of the kit too hard, otherwise, medium to light
hits and it's fine.
 
There are several things that I did. 
 
One was to isolate the pads in groups and connect them to a module. All of
the pads on the left rack tie to module 1, the center rack pads tie to
module 2 and the right side rack tie to module 3. 
 
The second thing I did was replace all of the cymbal arm rack clamps. I
replaced them with Gilbrator Road Series clamps. The clamps open up wider
than the cymbal arm, unlike the standard Yamaha cymbal clamps. I then took a
heavy piece of rubber and wrapped it around the cymbal arm tube and then
placed that in the new clamps. The rubber was from a older washing machine
drain holes, very heavy and very sturdy. The rubber isolates the cymbal arm
from the clamp.
 
Other folks here have filled the rack tubing with insulating foam, buy I
have had needed to do that, but it does help.
