Korg DW8000, Mono/Poly, MS-20...

OK ok,

So I opened her up to check for an internal battery, but could not 
find one as described in the 8000...there does look to be a battery 
maybe though, it looks like blue bumbpy barrel on it's side, BUT I 
have no clue about electronics at all...but check this out! When I 
closed her back up and powered her back up, when i pressed a key I 
heard a tone! I messed around for a while and programmed her for a 
bit. Got this awesome gnarly distorted bass that rocked the 
arppegiator, then after a while it started to spazz out. Like the 
tone would start distorting and changing, which was kind of cool, BUT 
was way uncontrollable that it's frusterating. It would go away by 
tapping the top of the synth in various places, but keeps coming 
back. I opened her up a second time to see if maybe I could find a 
short or something, but looks good to me. Closed her back up and she 
is still unstable, at times cool, but then wacks out. It's almost as 
though the poly-61 is deamon possessed. Any suggestions, or should I 
just pray this one through, or should I take it to my tech?
