With OS X, the operating system itself takes advantage of the
dual chips, while OS 9 does not. But there are some functions in
Photoshop that take advantage of the dual chips in OS 9 - such
as unsharp mask, gausion blur and I belive rotation. Just how
much more will Photoshop take advantage of the dual chips in
OS X is anyones guess until it's revealed. The new operating
system has more code to deal with so it does need a faster
processer.

Wether or not Photoshop will be faster in OS X I'm not sure - the
buzz from the Adobe User to User Forum is that it will be the
same same - but who really knows till we see it.

Mark the Dual Gig G4 is fast as all hell - just got mine last week
still working on configuring it. Opens Photoshop in six seconds!
Full rezz 50+ meg scans from my Scsi Polaroid 4000 take one
minute - that's in OS 9.

I chose the 1 Gig Dual as anything less with OS X is sluggish
and since it's the operating system of the future well I thought
what the heck. OS X is a different beast to say the least I'm
forcing myself to use it more and more...it's just too pretty to look
at.

Best,
