Well, here's a low tech solution, learned from a friend with the same printer, and it seems to be working for me. Our Epson 4880's were clogging almost every time they weren't used for two or three days. He recommended covering the printer with plastic sheeting, tucking it in around the bottom. On top of the paper feed cover (in the front) I put an old 5X7 darkroom tray, holding a sponge and about half filled with water. We were recently away for about 20 days, and when I got back, the first nozzle check was perfect. No clogs now, in several months. On the other hand, right next to the 4880 is a 5 year old 2400, which I beta tested for Epson. It has never clogged, even once, and I do not have a cover over it. Not only that, there have been multiple periods of a month or more when the printer hasn't been used at all, and yet like a very good friend, it's always there and ready. So this business of printing is a real crap shoot! BTW, this is controversial, but I leave both printers on, all the time. Not sure if that helps or not.
