Hello Everyone, First of all my post may seem a bit off topic so I apologize for my post in advance. Specifically I am interested in buying and trying the new Cone Color Inks for the Epson 3800. I'm interested in the standard K3 inkset not the vivid version. However most of the time, the purpose of my printing is not tasked for making B&W (or color) prints, rather I use my printer most often for making digital negatives printed on Pictorico OHP transparency material. I have contacted IJM by phone and by e-mail inquiring about the usability of these new inks for my application. They seem unable to make a definitive answer, Yes or No regarding my needs. So I thought I would post my questions here. In the past Cone quad and hextone inks tended not to dry properly on OHP substrate. Assuming that the new Cone Color inks for the 3800 would dry properly would the inks have similar transmissive characteristics as OEM inks. Or to ask my question another way, "Will the UV log density of negatives printed with the Cone Color inks closely match that of Epson inks for the 3800?" I know some European users have used ink and cartridges purchased from InkJet republic and report no issues printing on similar substrates, so that's encouraging. And when I say no issues I also must include clogging problems. The current sale on Cone cart and ink products makes the possible jump to their system very attractive. If I switch I would choose the 100ml cart size since this should allow the printer to keep the cart pressurize much more easily. BTW, I'm not the only person curious to find out answers regarding printing digital ink jet negatives with Cone Inks. There are quite a few people who use the 3800 for this purpose, using either the Epson driver or QTR. So any knowledgeable input will be appreciated. Thanks, Don Bryant
