Actually a little known secret is that good-old Windex (or an off brand) loaded into carts is an excellent and harmless flushing agent. It has about the same pH (around 10.5) as the inks and other flushing fluids, and works equally well if not better. I've used it for years for short and long term in all of my printers (including the 7000, 7800, 4880, R2880 , 1400, R2400, etc) with not the slightest harm to any of the components. You can usually find it in bulk 1/2 gallon bottles for about $3-$6 - a rather immense cost saving. Tom Mallonee www.ovimaging.com For flushing up epson inks from 7500 I understood I should use flushing liquid from MIS, I have found two and I am not sure which one to use and what are the differences. One is BASE and other is BASE-UT as mentioned on this page http://www.inksupply.com/accessory.cfm?action=find <http://www.inksupply.com/accessory.cfm?action=find&the_cat=1> &the_cat=1 thanks for directions. -richard- [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
