Richard, It is fairly easy to replace the pads in the waste collection box.It only takes removing 4 screws from the front exit plate on the machine to access it. The tricky part is getting the plate back in position. It's not hard, but you need to look carefully at it when you slide it down for removal so that you know which tabs go where when you put it back on.Otherwise you can leave one or more of them sticking up to cause paper to jam up coming out of the printer. If you find the box is fairly dry (especially if the printer has been sitting unused for quite awhile) you may not need to worry about doing anything with the pads for some time. They last considerably longer than Epson's guidelines indicate and some people reset the printers warning once or twice before changing pads. You just need to be aware of them and check them from time to time if you are doing heavy printing or making many ink changeovers. If you don't already have it, I would suggest that you download the 7500 service manual. It's available online- just google it.
