I recently completed a short class in B&W digital printing. The instructor recommended always scanning 35mm negs at 4000 dpi. 4000 is, in fact, the max listed in VueScan software for my Nikon LS-5000, but other settings are allowed. I'd like each scan to be the last I'll ever have to do for a given neg, so what are the ins & outs of this choice? [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
