So if you like to have as much information as possible in your scan and never redo the scan then use the 4000 SPI setting and use the 16 bit output. For archiving a normal Tiff file at 16 bit can be smaller than a compressed 16 bit Tiff file. Compressed PNG will deliver a smaller file but that format is less supported.
