Are far as missed opportunity is concerned, I think Foveon blew it by letting Sigma be the first with their technology. Who is going out and buying into the Sigma system? Sure, the lenses are fine, but you need to use the truly crappy Sigma body. Hunt's Photo in Massachusetts stopped carrying the bodies because there were so many problems with them. A $3000 investment in an inferior system is no investment at all. Sure, the future may be Foveon, but it has to be based on a strong track record (Nikon, Canon), to get pro photographers to buy into it.
