Hey everyone; Sorry if this is off topic.... but I know lots of people on this list use LaCie monitors for doing their photoshop / B&W print work. I bought a new Lacie 19 blue III a few weeks back for $399. When I started up the monitor for the first time, the first thing I noticed was that the geometry was terrible. I played around with the geometry settings for quite some time over the next few days and although I was able to lessen the problem it was still not very good. I thought the whole idea of a 100% flat tube was zero distortion. I talked with Lacie and they suggested that I swap it our for a new one. On startup of monitor #2 the geometry also looked bad. Again, after much playing with the controls I was able to improve it to a large degree but still not perfect. Also, this monitor has multiple vertical hairlines that are quite visible when I have a window up with a white background. LaCie does offer a fix for this problem but it was not successful on this monitor. So, this monitor will have to go back too. On color and sharpness I am VERY happy with this monitor, an excellent value for 400 bucks and I love the dark blue case! So... my question are: Have other users had this problem with this monitor? Should I not be expecting perfect geometry with a flat tube? Is there another 19"(18" viewable) monitor that is highly rated for around $400 ? Thanks in advance! -Jeff Magidson
