My 1400-Eb6 also printed a dark test strip for some reason on Epson Hot Press, and this was with an ICC that looked good previously. Just prior to this dark test strip, I noticed the nozzle check had one or more unusually dark lines in the Yellow position. Since the nozzle was not clogged I ignored it -- that was a mistake, apparently. After a cleaning cycle all the little lines were very light and equal, as usual. A test print after the cleaning cycle was right on the mark. The lesson may be that if you see a dark line in the nozzle check, don't ignore it. Next time I may just print a block of yellow (if that is where the unusually dark line is) to blow out that channel, since the nozzle was not clogged. But at this point my working hypothesis is that a dark line in a nozzle check should be dealt with and not ignored. This may or may not be related to your problem, but I thought I'd pass along my experience. Paul www.PaulRoark.com
