Like others here, I use a miter saw to do this.First I wrap and tape butcher paper tightly around the area of the roll I intend to cut. I also use a carbide tipped fine tooth blade. It works very well. You can,with caution,even use a 10 inch blade and rotate the roll to cut all the way through longer rolls. It does make a mess however, as the fine paper dust makes your work area look as if you had an indoor snow storm, so beware of where you do the cutting.
