In point of fact, they do not make lenses that will fit any camera.

They make lenses which are available with the mounting hardware to fit
different cameras. The Sigma you buy for your Nikon will not fit a Canon.

Now, a camera that would take any lens - that would be quite the hardware
chameleon! -BK
